As I said in the previous article about building your own top budget computer configuration the solution for a fast and good computer would be a conventional hard drive unit and a SSD unit for faster operating system and app management. In the HDD units category you can go for a 1 TB Western Digital Caviar Blue (rated at $90), the Seagate 1TB ST 31000 524 AS ( $ 60 ) or the 1 TB Western Digital RS ( $ 55 ). In the SSD category I would choose a Corsair SSD Nova 60 GB ( $ 100 ) or a 60 GB SSD from Mushkin ( $ 130 ). As this was cleared out and some options laid down, a computer must have an optical drive even if optical drives may seem outdated for many users.
Between the DVD solution and the Blu – Ray discs, remain USB flash drives, and as good as these can be for storing data, the optical discs remain the best solution for storing data as they are more resilient to all sort of external influences. A top unit needs to be able to read and maybe even write Blu – Ray discs especially since many films have started to be launched in this format for extensive quality and immersive experience. Unfortunately, this offer is still restricted because it seems marketing these devices does not want to make them a standard as their high prices even rates them as not acceptable. For example, in many third world countries you can buy in present days some LG models such as the CH10 LS 20B for about $120 or the CH10 LS 20R for $ 140 for a normal affordable price while other options come at a price too high for even some top budgets ( over $ 200 ).
In which regards cases and power supplies, the computer case must also be efficient and elegant as the computer tends to heat up because the powerful components inside need proper cooling solutions. A top computer needs functioning in a case in a manner that internal components can be arranged both in terms of design, performance and cooling issues. This is a concept which made many new manufacturers gain ground in the market segment as older ones couldn’t implement or just didn’t took that in serious. The offer is very large but I have chosen the Thermaltake Spacecraft models VF – I ($ 110), Antec Three Hundred Tower ($ 100) and Miditower Chieftec Bravo ($ 120).
