iPhone 5 Possible Features Leaked By A. One

Following up on the big possible iPhone 5 leak we talked about in Friday’s article, we’ve been given additional information on the iPhone 5 specs from our source, Faiz Aly of A. One. And just as with the images we showed you on Friday, this information is big. Some of it is in line with what we’ve been reporting for weeks here at iPhone 5 Latest, and some of it is brand new information that you won’t find anywhere else.

iPhone 5 Gets 4G LTE, Bigger Screen and Different Shape

When we were first given the leaked World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 images, the first thing we noticed was the bright 4G symbol in the upper left corner of the purported iPhone 5′s screen. We speculated about whether or not the iPhone 5 would be getting the ultra fast 4G LTE or a slower form of 4G. According to A. One’s sources, the iPhone 5 will indeed be getting 4G LTE, which means that iPhone 5 users will be able to take advantage of the fast connection on all three major cellular networks (AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint).
Another thing that A. One confirmed for us about the pictures is that the iPhone 5 will indeed have a bigger screen. We speculated that, judging by the pictures, the iPhone 5 screen would be between 3.7-4.3 inches in size. According to A. One, the iPhone 5′s screen is actually 3.7 inches, which makes it slightly bigger than the previous iPhone’s 3.5 inch display.

A. One’s Foxconn source (who wishes to remain unnamed) told A. One that the iPhone 5 will have a different form factor than the rectangular, flat shaped iPhone 4 and 4S. This confirms what we assumed based on the leaked images: the iPhone 5 will indeed have a rounder shape than previous iPhones.

Better Camera and CMOS Sensor Coming to iPhone 5

Something we wondered about (and that wasn’t evident with the leaked iPhone 5 images) was whether or not the iPhone 5 would be getting a better camera. Of course, people are generally pretty happy with the iPhone 4S 8 Megapixel camera, but some have been holding out for a better camera in the iPhone 5.
And according to A. One, that’s exactly what they’ll be getting as the iPhone 5 is reportedly set to have a whopping 13 Megapixel camera. While such a huge camera isn’t common in smartphones (yet), it’s also not unheard of as the HTC Titan 2 will be coming with a 16 Megapixel Camera.
The iPhone 5 camera will also come equipped with an upgraded CMOS sensor. As you might recall, the iPhone 4S was the first iPhone to come with a CMOS sensor. The new iPhone 5 CMOS sensor plus the higher megapixel camera will likely greatly improve the quality of pictures taken with the iPhone 5′s camera.

Production Has Began

We also asked A. One’s Faiz Aly about the iPhone 5′s production status. Aly told us that, according to his Foxconn source, production has already begun on the iPhone 5 in the Foxconn plants. This falls in line with what we previously reported here and also leads us to believe that the iPhone 5 will be hitting the market in June or July to coincide with WWDC 2012.
